Grand Italian Opera Season
Barber Of Seville
Tony Scotland narrates 12 of the finest
The greatest opera composers in The World are without doubt Italian with some of the best known tunes in the classical repertoire under their belts.
In this series we have chosen some of the funniest and saddest of all Italian
opera. On the humorous side there’s Rossini’s favourite comedies The Barber of Seville and Le Comte Ory, and there’s tragedy with Tosca by Puccini and Rigoletto from The Master of Italian opera – Verdi.
If you’re not the most knowledgeable opera buff then this series is definitely for you.
We have used the finest recordings, cut the less digestible bits and added the voice of Tony Scotland to keep you abreast of the action. Whatever your level you’ll find works like these
hard to resist. Each opera runs under two hours so there’s no marathons!
